Suggestion to ANET: Active enforcement of EULA?
Not sure if this is against any forum rules. If so, please erase this suggestion.
Does Arenanet ever have their employees actually log into Dist-1 of Ascalon, Droknars, or Lions arch to routinely check for bot spammers or item scammers (the kind that ask for 400k cash only, then vanish without ever delivering the promised items)? I believe more active policing and sting-operations of the GW cities would stop some of these more annoying aspects of the game. At the moment, I see ANET being completely re-active to user e-mails instead of pro-active by actually being in game. Is this a true or false impression?
Enforcement doesn't have to happen 24/7... just at random times or days of the week.
Just a suggestion, nothing more...

I have submitted a few violation reports in the past (abusive language, spamming using funny characters, etc) and met very little understanding from support personel. They gave me advices on how to use ignore list (ugh like i didnt know that) and I actually had to press them insisting on fact of violation before they gave me standard reply concerning privacy policy, so i dont even know if they did anything at all.
Basically ANet's support job is to politely tell you to piss off, because they dont have resources to do anything.

thats insinuating that they actually even go so far as to do something, which from my experience, they dont...and when they do they take their sweet assed time doing it, and the punishment isnt worthy of even mentioning.

Wow, I guess ANET has some real customer service issues when it comes public perception. I do get annoyed at receiving nothing but completely automated e-mail responses for any incident report I submit to http://support.guildwars.com. Even a simple "hello, my name is X, and I've read your report" e-mail would be better than what I'm seeing now. Perhaps human customer service is a lot to ask for a non-subscription based MMORPG,
but any human customer service interaction is better than none. I guess that's why everyone gets so excited when Gaile and Frog appear in LA1, but are these two the only ANET employees we will ever see in-game?

An in-game volunteer police force? Now there's something worth pursuing. Sony EQ used a similar set-up where volunteers were given limited-power moderator accounts to assist with resolving customer issues. In return, they also received free accounts on other servers where they didn't have moderator accounts. GW could do something similar by granting volunteer mods separate accounts and paying something like 1k per successfully resolved customer report to their real player account. The scope of their admin-abilities would have to be decided by ANET, but at least the game would now have active (instead of passive) rules enforcement.

Yes...yes...it's becoming clearer now...I see...I see...horrible abuses of power...yes...and there's more..
Just kidding, but not really...it would be nice to see something like that work, but I can't imagine how.
I'll sign this if you're suggesting that someone goes into Droks, looks for bots (however you do that...lol), and then perma-bans them on the spot. So...

ANET can grant volunteer moderators certain super-user abilities that can solve bots without being disruptive to the rest of the population. For example:
-squelch: named player cannot use public or trade channels for 1 to x hours
-denytrades: named player cannot open trade windows with other players for 1 to x hours
-report: named player is reported directly to senior ANET technical support for serious EULA infractions
These are just suggestions for tools that can give volunteer mods real teeth to dealing with very abusive players.
Volunteer Mods would have to disclose real world information (real names, address, phone#'s, etc.) to a live ANET technician in order to even qualify, thereby making them easy to trace should super-user abuse happen.
